Katy Perry has responded to Lily Allen's recent comments about there being a "frosty" relationship between the popstrels after the US star apparently called her fat.

Yesterday it was reported that Lily told Capital FM that she was none too impressed to hear the I Kissed a Girl singer describe herself as "a fatter version of Amy Winehouse and a skinnier version of Lily Allen".

The acid-tongued singer admitted that she was a bit cold towards Katy on purpose when she met her because of the throwaway comments and also said that she thought Katy was just trying to be an American version of herself.

Now Katy, who is probably quaking in her boots at the thought of upsetting dress-loving Lils, has apologised for the remark.

She told US magazine: "Yeah, I made a joke about [that] earlier this year.

"I was just kind of joking and trying to be funny. I didn't mean anything by it. Comedians are not necessarily to be taken super seriously."

Angelina Jolie has said that she may give up making movies in order to focus on her children because she says that her children are her priority now.

Louis Walsh has admitted that he misses his former X Factor co-judge Sharon Osbourne because she was the only one who stood up to Simon Cowell.

Billie Piper has given birth to her first child, a baby boy, and her ex-husband Chris Evans was one of the first to congratulate her on her brand new bundle of joy.

Madge's bro blames Kabbalah for split

Heat magazine has apologised to Peaches Geldof over previous reports that she chose to marry the Chester French musician Max Drummey in order to get a US visa.

Madonna and Guy 'ready for £50m divorce'

Madonna and hubby Guy Ritchie have given up on their seven-year marriage and are about to announce a £50 million divorce, according to reports.

Posh's housekeepers arrested

Two people have been arrested after Posh Spice's designer clothes turned up on eBay.

Former housekeeper June Emmett and her husband Eric were arrested on Friday on suspicion of theft after Vic's eagle-eyed mum spotted some of her daughter's designer clothes up for sale on the internet.

As well as the designer dresses, some of David football kits were also posted on the auction website.

After seeing the clothes online, Mrs Adams went over to the Beckham's empty luxury pad in the Sawbridgeworth area of Hertfordshire to check for the clothes. Once she noticed they were missing, Vic's mum called in the police.

Posh and Becks have yet to make a statement about the arrests, although a spokesperson said: "It would be inappropriate to comment as the matter is in police hands."

Katy Perry to host MTV Awards

Singer Katy Perry is to host this year's MTV Europe Music Awards in Liverpool.
