For a high-profile celeb wedding like Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z's, you might expect a world-famous chef to do the catering.
But guests at the top secret star's nuptials were treated to authentic, home-made cuisine cooked up by none other than Beyonce's mum and Jay-Z's granny, it has emerged.
When the 27-year-old pop superstar married her long-term boyfriend earlier this year, the pair managed to achieve the challenging task of keeping their big day a secret from the press.
And one of the ways that they kept outsiders away was to rely on family members to serve up the grub.
Beyonce's mum Tina says that the low-key nosh went down a treat, leaving even more money for the bride to splurge on her amazing dress (not that she needs to save the pennies).
"We cooked all the food. I cooked all my Creole stuff, and his grandmother cooked her oxtails," Tina told Giant mag.
"My favourite part was when we put all of this home cooking on that fancy china. It was special."
