We can't contain our excitement at the prospect of our very own favourite pop star possibly taking one of the most popular roles in musical history - Sandy in Grease!

The 26-year-old singer is reportedly being considered to play the role of sweet and innocent Sandy in the Broadway stage version of the hit musical.

If she's lucky, Brit could soon be spending her Summer Nights singing her heart out to the classics from the show.

"The producers were bouncing around the idea of casting Britney in the role of Sandy," a theatre insider told the Metro.

"They're recasting the roles in July and they thought that Britney looked like a Sandy. She would be terrific."

We totally agree. Not only has Britters obviously got an amazing singing voice, but she's proved her acting credentials by taking on roles in the movie Crossroads and US sit-com How I Met Your Mother.

Now all we need to know is who will play Danny Zuko…

Rihanna: I've been cheated on

I know what you're thinking…you'd have to be seriously loopy to cheat on the gorgeous and super-talented Rihanna.

But the sexy songstress has revealed that she has had her heart broken in the past.

The 20-year-old stunner said that some poor deluded boy thought he could do better when he was going out with her.

"I've been cheated on. When I was young my boyfriend was unfaithful, it happens," Rihanna said in a chat with MSN.

But did the Barbadian beauty sit there and feel sorry for herself? Of course she didn't!

"What did I do? I walked away," said the Take A Bow hit-maker.

"If someone does it once he's going to do it again. I wasn't in a marriage, you know, so as soon as something like that happens you have to walk away."

Naomi charged over Heathrow incident

So remember all that palaver in April about Naomi Campbell flying into a rage and supposedly beating up some busies at Heathrow Airport because BA went and lost her precious bags?

Well today the British super appeared at a police station and the CPS revealed that she has been charged with five offences.

Part of the court's statement read: "Ms Campbell has today been charged with three offences of assaulting a constable, one offence of disorderly conduct likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress and one offence of using threatening, abusive words or behaviour to cabin crew."

Jeez Naomi how about using some of those millions to pay for a few anger management classes?

Still, at least the 38-year-old beauty managed to keep her cool today when she emerged from the station smiling and wearing a dark pinstripe suit and humongous sunglasses.

You gotta hand it to the girl for looking stylish even when she's in trouble with the law.

Jamie Lynn's pre-nup crisis

Jamie Lynn Spears, the preggers little sis of Britney, is facing a relationship dilemma as her fiance and the father of her unborn tot Casey Aldridge is apparently refusing to sign a pre-nuptial agreement.

Jamie Lynn is rich and famous in her own right for being the star of Nickelodeon's kids TV show Zoey 101 and is estimated to have at least a few million dollars in the bank.

The 17-year-old said yes when her long-term boyf Casey proposed to her in March, four months after she confirmed her shock pregnancy.

Sensibly, Mummy Spears Lynne insisted on Jamie and Casey having a pre-nup, probably in the hopes that her baby daughter avoids the same troubles Britters went through in her divorce from K-Fed.

But now we hear that there is trouble in the Spears camp since 19-year-old piper Casey is refusing to sign the agreement drawn up by Lynne a month ago.

A friend tells In Touch magazine: "Casey doesn't want to sign the prenuptial agreement.

"It's really causing a strain for everyone. It's been going for a month and he still hasn't signed it."

Ashlee and Pete confirm pregnancy!

Hollywood's worst kept secret is finally out – newlyweds Ashlee and Pete Wentz have confirmed that they are expecting their first baby.

Ashlee, who has changed her name to Ashlee Wentz but will go by Ashlee Simpson-Wentz professionally, married Fall Out Boy star Pete on May 17th in LA.

At the time, lots of peeps were speculating that Ash was preggers but the couple were saying nothing.

But now they have released a statement saying: "While many have speculated about this, we wanted to wait until after the first trimester to officially confirm that we are expecting our first child.

"This is truly the most joyous time in our lives and we are excited to share the happy news and start our family."

After the wedding Ash told People mag: "I would love to have a big family one day," while her cheeky fella added, "A big soccer team or a band!"

George Clooney single again

That's right girls, Hollywood's most eligible bachelor is back on the market again as according to reports he has split from his girlfriend of a year, Sarah Larson.

Enviable Sarah dated the handsome hunk after meeting him at a Whiskey bar in Las Vegas where she was working as a cocktail waitress.

The actor's rep, Stan Rosenfield, would only say: "We do not comment on George's personal life."

But according to People magazine, sources close to the pair say they have decided to go their separate ways.

George and Sarah were last pictured at the 47th birthday bash that George's fashion designer pal Giorgio Armani threw for him in New York on May 6th.

We're sorry for Sarah, but lets face it she's done well out of the high-profile relationship.

She bagged a trip to the Oscars in February, made an appearance in People's 100 Most Beautiful issue and has enjoyed countless red carpet outings, and what girl wouldn't kill for half a chance to have that?

SATC girls go metallic for NY premiere

It was a triumphant homecoming for the Sex and the City girls last night as Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kim Cattrall and Kristin Davis dazzled in their fabulous frocks.

SJP looked pretty as a picture in a flowing silver Nina Ricci gown, while Kristin shone in a gold Donna Karan dress with a black waist belt.

Meanwhile Kim had slipped into a clingy gun-metal grey Vivienne Westwood number and Cynthia looked stunning in a floor-length white Narciso Rodriguez dress.

Fans had braved thundery weather conditions to see the girls but Kristin, who plays Charlotte in the hit show, said that the storms only added to the excitement of the event.

"We've got this crazy weather so there is like added electricity in the air," she said.

"We were all worried about our fans but they are die-hard New Yorkers and they can take anything."

Kylie turns 40!

She still looks like a teenager but princess of pop Kylie Minogue is celebrating her 40th birthday today with a lavish dinner party in Germany.

The pint-sized star is bang slap in the middle of her European tour but is taking a day off to celebrate her 40th year.

Mummy and Daddy Minogue, Carol and Ron, are flying in from Australia to celebrate their famous daughter's landmark birthday as is little sis Dannii.

And we certainly wish we could get an invite to this party because, as well as the star-studded company, guests will be treated to gifts from the birthday girl herself.

Yes, that's right. Generous Kylie has decided to reverse the tradition of receiving birthday gifts and hand out pressies to her loved ones instead!

A source told The Sun: "Kylie has been spending some of her rare rest time on the European tour looking through boutiques and antique stores for gifts to give to her guests.

"She's been shopping in Paris, Belgium, Prague and Athens. She loves giving gifts and she loves shopping, and money is no obstacle."

Sienna: I have bad hair days!

Sienna Miller may be one of the most stylish women on the planet but she is keen to reassure peeps that she has her down days just like any other gal.

The stunning 26-year-old let slip recently that she was asked to pile on the pounds for her latest film role in the Edge of Love and her hot bod has never fully recovered.

"I just stuffed my face for the months that we were in production. I had huge fry-up breakfasts, pasties for lunch and lots of toasties," she told Elle magazine.

The 24-year-old Easy singer says she feels self-conscious wearing her sexy stage outfits because she thinks she is flat-chested.

Gorgeous Amelle revealed that she is considering having collagen injected into her bust in the hope that it will give her a bigger cleavage.

She said: "I've read about a surgery-free boob enhancer where collagen is injected into your breasts.

"I'm really flat-chested so I'd definitely consider that. If you have got issues with your body, why not make yourself feel better?"

We all know that the Pussycat Dolls enjoy life in the fast lane and now Nicole Scherzinger is following the same rule in her love life as she is said to be dating Formula 1 ace Lewis Hamilton.

The sexy singer was apparently seen smooching the sportsman as the loved-up pair celebrated his historic win at the Monaco Grand Prix.

Nicole is so serious about the Brit that we hear she even missed the launch party for the new Pussycat Dolls single When I Grow Up so she could be by her man's side on his big day.

She apparently told her pals: "We've been seeing each other on and off for three months. He was amazing today."

Kirsten speaks out about rehab

Kirsten Dunst has finally broken her silence about her rumoured stint in rehab, saying that she was not suffering from drug and alcohol-related problems but depression.

The down-in-the-dumps Spider-Man star hit the headlines earlier this year when she checked into the Cirque Lodge Treatment Center in Utah - the same posh facility used by Lindsay Lohan and Eva Mendes.

But Kirsten has now revealed that her stay was not a result of wild partying, as some peeps said.

"I was struggling, and I had the opportunity to go somewhere and take care of myself," the 26-year-old told E! Online.

Kirsten added that her family had been through a hard time dealing with the false media reports that she had drunk herself into her troubles.

She said: "Now that I'm feeling stronger, I was prepared to say something. Depression is pretty serious and should not be gossiped about."

Lily: Blondes really do have more fun!

Now there may be plenty of peeps out there who think that Lily Allen looked better as a brunette, but the sprightly singer has said that she is in no hurry to return to her dark roots anytime soon as she is having way too much fun as a blonde.

The Smile singer shocked fans when she traded in her trademark brown locks for a new platinum blonde revamp, but she says that she is over-the-moon about her new look.

She said: "I'm loving being blonde. I'm not sure if I'll go back to brunette or not, but I'm definitely having fun as I am and I don't fancy a change right now."

Lil also revealed that, despite having a rubbish start to 2008 what with her miscarriage and all that, she is back on fighting form and feeling great about her second album.

We'd be the first to admit that Brit doesn't have the best track record when it comes to romance.

First there was the mystery Las Vegas wedding to childhood friend Jason Allen Alexander back in 2004, and the less said about K-Fed the better.

But now Brit has found herself a man who has won the approval of her old man Jamie, which sounds sensible to us.

Apparently Daddy Spears sees Brit's new love Jason Trewick, who has known the sexy singer for years, as a "stabilising influence".

A secret spy told the Daily Mirror: "Jamie thinks Jason would be a great match for Britney.

"She always had a thing for bad boys but now she realises good guys can be attractive, too."

Brangelina's bling new home

When you're as rich and famous as Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, splashing out on a £35 million home on the French Riviera is all in a day's work.

Mr and Mrs Pitt have treated themselves to a whopping 35-bedroom French retreat, which should provide more than enough room for their ever-expanding brood of children.

The new residence is equipped with his-and-hers gyms, a Jacuzzi, sauna, billiards room and a huge banqueting suite, which will make it easy for the stars to host parties for their Hollywood friends, including George Clooney and Matt Damon.

Preggers Ange is said to be keen to move before August as she is due to give birth to twins on the 19th and would like to have the tots in France as a tribute her late mother Marcheline Bertrand.

An inside source revealed: "It's absolutely unbelievable. Brad and Angelina are thrilled, they love the place and have already been furniture shopping to fill the place as it's massive.

"There's a lake and a swimming pool and fountains and fields with ponies in and it's surrounded by a huge forest so no-one will be able to take pictures of them or the kids."

Adele's mum misunderstands Kanye

We wouldn't like to place a bet on who would win in a fight between Kanye West and Adele's mum, but luckily we won't have to as the British soul singer managed to calm her mother down.

The Cold Shoulder singer's sultry voice has attracted the attention of the rap superstar and he was quick to shower praise on the 19-year-old.

But poor Adele's mum misunderstood when she heard that Kanye called her darling daughter "dope" - an American slang word for "cool".

Adele laughed: "When my mum read that Kanye had called me dope she thought he was being horrible!

"I love Kanye. I haven't met him yet. Maybe he will come to my Los Angeles show."

Adele also said that she would never be caught getting into the kind of scrapes that Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton get into because of her down-to-earth style that we all know and love.

She explained: "I'll never get my knickers photographed because I wear jeans. I prefer pubs, and paparazzi never hang around them. My friends come to my house - we get drunk, play video games and eat pizza."

Poor old Matthew Broderick has been moaning about how his famous wife Sarah Jessica Parker gets asked for her autograph more than he does.

Well, that isn't really surprising Matthew, seeing as she is the star of every girl's favourite TV show, Sex and the City.

Baywatch babe Carmen Electra may be madly in love with her Korn guitarist fiance Rob Patterson, but she is playing her cards close to her chest as we hear that she is keen on a pre-nup.

Carmen and Rob were overheard talking money in the unlikely setting of a nail salon where the loved-up pair were getting his and hers pedicures.

Rob may be in a super-successful band, but Carmen's extensive modelling and movie work mean that she has raked in far more cash than him.

Usher denies marriage trouble rumours

So a lot of peeps have been gossiping about Usher's marriage lately, claiming that he is planning to separate from his wife of less than a year Tameka Foster.

But never fear - the rumours are completely false, according to the R&B star's manager Benny Medina.

He said: "It's 100 per cent not true. Usher and Tameka are currently travelling in Europe together as a family on his promotional tour."

Well that's good to know because Usher has just been waxing lyrical about how much he loves being married and being a dad to six-month-old son Usher Raymond V.

Chatting to US talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, the Nice and Slow singer said that he was enjoying "learning more and more about the beauty of fatherhood".

He said: "To be there for my child is so important. I just want him to grow up to be as wise as he can possibly be, kind and open hearted. [Fatherhood] changes everything about me."

Rihanna admits taking sexy costumes home

If rumours that Rihanna is dating Chris Brown are to be believed, he is one very lucky fella indeed as the sexy songstress has revealed that she occasionally takes her raunchy stage costumes home with her.

Rihanna, who is regularly seen wearing PVC, hot pants and thigh-high boots during her super-charged performances, let slip recently that being able to keep the fab clothes is a perk of the job.

"I like to push the envelope sometimes. It depends on the mood and occasion. It's always fun to take some home. Sometimes I get to do that," the 20-year-old told The Sun.

And according to the Umbrella hit-maker, the UK has plenty to be thankful for right now when it comes to the music scene.

She said: "I think the UK is taking over. I'd love to work with Mark Ronson.

P Diddy 'slums it' in Cannes

Rap mogul P Diddy has chosen to leave his usual flamboyant style at home while he is in Cannes in order to prove to people in the movie biz that he is a credible actor.

The super-smooth musician, who is normally accompanied by swarms of scantily clad women as well as his massive entourage, has said that he wants to keep his appearance at the Cannes Film Festival low-key.

For this reason, he has shunned private jets and took a humble commercial flight with the regular Joes from the US.

According to reports, he even kept a blanket over his head for most of the journey so that fans would not recognise him!

Explaining the reason for his bizarre behaviour, P Diddy said: "As an actor, a lot of directors and producers they don't want to deal with my entourage so I'm flying by myself.

"I'm a movie star in the making".

But the king of bling could not live the low-key life for long as he was soon seen inviting supermodel Naomi Campbell to celebrate her 38th birthday on his private luxury yacht.

Madonna: I get better with age

Good old Madge always likes to look on the bright side of life.

A number of vainer stars might be tempted to go under the knife or shy away from the camera as they approach their 50th birthday.

But the landmark age doesn't faze the queen of pop as she said recently she feels better-looking now than ever before.

Madonna explained: "I like the way I look better now. My thighs aren't as chubby. I'm not kidding. I'm being perfectly honest."

You gotta love the hit-maker's optimism as the star also said that she has never thought herself beautiful but knows she can still pack a punch in the style stakes.

"I see myself as practical and handsome, and useful," she said.

"I don't think of myself as a great beauty. But I think of myself as stylish."

Amy runs late to pick up yet another gong

It was a case of another day, another award to collect for Amy Winehouse yesterday as the troubled singer arrived late to the Ivor Novellos yesterday leaving her flustered father Mitch to pick up the accolade for her.

Poor old dad Mitch looked a tad flummoxed as he approached the stage to make amends for his wayward daughter's fashionably late appearance.

Amy was awarded the Best Song Musically and Lyrically gong for her stunning track Love Is a Losing Game on hit album Back to Black.

But it was confused daddy who had to take the credit, saying: "I don't know what I'm doing up here. Amy unfortunately couldn't make it but she's getting better and she sends you her love."

The talented 24-year-old eventually showed up wearing a cute little floral mini-dress to celebrate with her mum and dad.

Perhaps it was her hair that took her so long as Amy's trademark beehive was adorned with a decorative heart saying Blake - a nod to her incarcerated hubby.

Posh to make Ugly Betty return

Victoria Beckham is set to return to the hit US show Ugly Betty after her successful cameo in the last series.

The pouty Spice Girl, who is trying to make a name for herself on the American fashion scene, wowed fans by playing an attention-stealing bridesmaid at the wedding of her fictional friend Wilhelmina Slater.

Unsurprisingly, Posh appeared to fit right in on the set of the made-up magazine Mode and Ugly Betty bosses were so impressed by her performance that they want to see her back in a recurring role.

A source told the Sydney Morning Herald: "The producers are delighted she will return. She is going to feature quite a bit."

Ever-fashionable Posh appears to have started something of a trend for celebrity cameos in the show as wild-child actress Lindsay Lohan and hot-tempered British supermodel Naomi Campbell have both filmed scenes for the show's upcoming third series.
