Brad backs gay marriage

Brad Pitt has said that he will not make an honest woman of Angelina Jolie until the right to get married in America is extended to gay couples.

The actor has spoken out against a controversial plan to ban same-sex weddings in California.

And instead of just using his star credentials to gain publicity, the generous actor has donated $100,000 to the battle against Proposition 8.

In a statement made a few months ago, Brad said: "Because no one has the right to deny another their life, even though they disagree with it, because everyone has the right to live the life they so desire if it doesn't harm another and because discrimination has no place in America, my vote will be for equality and against Proposition 8."

However, this week's donation adds further support to the cause and could mean wedding bells for Brad and Ange are drawing closer.

Several members of Hollywood's A-list have also spoken out in protest against the bill including Ellen DeGeneres and iconic director Steven Spielberg.
