Singer Katy Perry is to host this year's MTV Europe Music Awards in Liverpool.
The chart-topper, who caused a stir at the recent US version of the awards by taking to the red carpet wearing a pair of skin-tight hot pants and a corset, is also nominated for two of the gongs.
As well as introducing the star-studded event on November 6th, Katy is in with a chance of taking home the Best New Act and Most Addictive Track awards.
The 23-year-old said it was an "honour" to be asked to present the show.
"To follow in the footsteps of previous hosts Christina Aguilera, Tom Jones, P Diddy and Snoop Dogg at this prestigious event is an incredible honour - do they know what they are getting into?" the I Kissed A Girl singer joked.
Richard Godfrey is executive producer of this year's ceremony and said Katy is the "perfect" choice.
"We want to pursue a much more informal and relaxed role for the host at this year's awards," he added.
