Katy insists parents are "supportive"

Katy Perry has brushed off rumours that she is in the middle of a family feud, insisting that her parents are very supportive of her.

The 24-year-old singer made headlines earlier this week when her Christian evangelical mother dismissed her number one hit single I Kissed a Girl as "shameful and disgusting".

We thought it was pretty harsh but Katy has taken it all in her stride, saying that her rents are still proud of her and are big fans of most of the songs on her album One of the Boys.

"I'm sure they opt out of singing I Kissed a Girl or Ur So Gay, but they're singing along to every other song on the record," she explained.

Katy added that she would remain in her mum and dad's good books as long as she didn't do any nude photoshoots.

"They're just glad I'm not strung out, doing centrefolds and s*** like that," she said.
