Despite setting up home together and playing happy families, Hollywood couple Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon have denied rumours that they are engaged.
The pair, who have been dating for well over a year, have slammed suggestions made by American tabloids that they are busy planning a wedding.
Reports of an upcoming engagement were labelled "lies" by the couple's spokesperson.
An insider told People: "They are not engaged, getting married or any of the reports,"
Reese and Jake have been keen to keep their relationship low key following Reese's much-publicised divorce from Ryan Phillippe which was only finalised a couple of months ago.
Phillippe has spoken out about the divorce and said he has spent a lot of time at home in recent months to avoid being snapped by press photographers.
But he understands that being married to "the highest-paid actress in the world" does come with a "certain amount of notoriety".
