Hollywood actress Liv Tyler and her rock star husband Royston Langdon have confirmed their separation after five years of marriage.
The 30-year-old daughter of Aerosmith front-man Steven Tyler married British musician Royston of the band Spacehog in a private ceremony in the Caribbean in 2003.
Royston and Liv have a four-year-old son Milo together.
The Lord of the Rings actress's representative told People.com: "Liv Tyler and Royston Langdon have confirmed their separation.
"They remain good friends and devoted parents to their son Milo and are requesting that their family's privacy be respected at this time."
Speculation that Liv's marriage was under strain mounted this week when the actress attended the glitzy Metropolitan Costume Institute Gala in New York City without wearing her wedding ring.
Liv will next be seen starring opposite Edward Norton in The Incredible Hulk as Betty Ross, the love interest of Bruce Banner.
