Amy Winehouse up for three song-writing awards

Skinny jeans fan Amy Winehouse has been nominated for three Ivor Novello awards.

The London-based singer - known as much for her vocal range as for her beehive - has received nominations in the Best-Selling British Song and Best Song categories.

Interestingly, Love is a Losing Game and You Know I'm No Good are both up for the Best Song Musically and Lyrically prize - the first time an artist has had two songs in one category since the awards were launched in 1955.

She faces competition from Mika for the Best-Selling British Song gong, while in the Best Contemporary Song category Kate Nash will battle it out against Klaxons and Cherry Ghost.

The 24-year-old Back to Black singer said she was "overwhelmed" by the nominations after a particularly shaky start to the year.

"Winning Ivors for my songwriting have been some of the best moments in my music career," she said.

"It's come at a great time too. I'm excited to be back at work in the studio, enjoying songwriting and making music again."
