Ewan McGregor has revealed that he had a cluster of cancerous moles removed last year.
The 37-year-old actor who is currently promoting his new film Deception, explained that a routine check-up revealed the moles were potentially dangerous.
He told the BBC that having fair skin and spending long periods in the sun - most notably when wearing bicycle leathers for his round the world motorcycle trip - made him cautious about his skin.
"I just went to have them checked, you have to be careful if you're pale skinned and you spend time in the sun, with moles," the Star Wars and Trainspotting star said.
"So I went to see a specialist who thought they were better to be removed and indeed he was correct."
McGregor has also revealed that he was left "exhausted" by the love scenes he had to film for the new movie.
