Simon Cowell has reportedly been informed after a pregnancy testing kit was discovered in the X Factor house.
According to The People, a researcher found the test in the bathroom that the female contestants share together.
It could have belonged to any of the female contestants or production workers but the show's bosses were apparently concerned about attracting bad publicity.
A source told the paper: "After an investigation was launched the female who owned the kit sheepishly came forward and admitted it was hers.
"The words 'pregnancy' and 'X Factor' just don't sit well together. It's meant to be a family show and bosses will go to any length to protect that image."
The only girls left in the competition are now Diana Vickers and Alexandra Burke after dress-loving Ruth Lorenzo got voted off the show on Saturday.
