Leona to buy Hackney flat

Could Leona Lewis be any more down-to-earth? She may be a globally successful pop star but she certainly hasn't forgotten her roots.

The dress-loving singer is set to buy the flat she has rented in Hackney, east London, with her electrician boyfriend Lou Al-Chamaa for the past two years.

Leona could probably afford a flat or two in one of the capital city's swankier areas or perhaps a house in the country, but the 23-year-old has no desire to move away from her working class roots.

She said: "We were renting it but the landlord was like, 'you have to get out now.' I talked him into selling it to me.

"When you're settled it's hard to move. I really love the place - it's really private and the neighbours are cool - and it's very close to my parents."
