Guy Ritchie has opened up about his marriage to pop star Madonna, saying that the laughs in their marriage were long gone.
According to the Mirror, the film director told friends that Madonna is obsessed with her image and wants to be seen as "some kind of global soothsayer".
The paper reports that Guy told a friend: "It's silly, she's a pop star. I just wanted a regular husband and wife thing - not least for the sake of the kids.
"But it was always a great song and dance just to do ordinary stuff. There was a time when she used to have a sense of humour about herself."
The 40-year-old movie maker added that by the end, he and his denim-loving wife had become two different people living entirely separate lives.
He described his marriage as a "circus".
