Eva loves new frumpy look

Eva Longoria has declared that she loves her new middle-aged look.

The Desperate Housewives star has undergone a transformation of late by chopping off her luscious long locks and sporting a bob.

However her publicist recently explained that Eva's new look is not her own choice but is because of her character Gabrielle Solis.

Apparently in the new season of the hit show, we will see Gabrielle five years in the future, living as a downtrodden housewife instead of a glamorous man-eater.

The Latino actress said that she loves the new direction because it means she can step down her fierce health and beauty regime.

She said: "I love it. I come into hair and make up now and it's ten minutes instead of two hours. It's way more fun to play frumpy.

"Then you can focus on story and character as opposed to having to always look great. I feel like she's dealing with a lot of real issues."
