The mother and sister of Batman star Christian Bale have accused the actor of assault, but police allowed the star to attend the premiere of his new film The Dark Knight.
Christian (34) turned up on the red carpet at London's Leicester Square last night with co-stars Maggie Gyllenhaal and Sir Michael Caine.
However the actor's mother Jenny, 61, and sister Sharon, 40, went to a police station in Hampshire yesterday to lodge a complaint that Christian lashed out on Sunday night at his suite in Park Lane's Dorchester Hotel, the Sun reports.
Scotland Yard said: "We can confirm that we have received an allegation from another force in relation to an incident in central London."
The star was allowed to attend the premiere but is understood to be wanted for questioning at the earliest opportunity.
A source told the newspaper: "It was a very difficult situation but it would have been wrong to have wrecked the premiere over a complaint which we don't yet know is founded in truth."
