Jay-Z: London music scene is the best

Rap superstar Jay-Z may be attempting to curry favour with Brits given that Glastonbury is this weekend and he's sparked a bit of a furore by headlining the festival.

So maybe it's no surprise that he has bigged up the London music scene, saying that people in his native America only go into the industry to make big bucks.

Mr Beyonce Knowles told Time Out: "I think in London - and I don't wanna offend anybody in America, but this is a real statement - they still have the right approach to making music."

He added that lovely ladies Amy Winehouse, Duffy and Estelle are particular faves of his.

"When I listen to Amy Winehouse, I believe that her heart and soul is in the music, or if I listen to other British artists like Duffy or Estelle. The aesthetic of it is different. It's not anything formulaic. Not ringtone," he said.
