Ricci wants to make 'family films'

Hollywood actress Christina Ricci has said that she would like to make more family films.

The 28-year-old star burst on to the movie scene as a child actress when she played the precocious Wednesday in The Addams Family, but since then she has gone for darker roles in films such as the gothic Sleepy Hollow, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Monster and Black Snake Moan.

However, now she has returned with a child-friendly action flick Speed Racer and Christina says that she enjoyed making the movie so much that she wants to opt for clean-cut roles in the future.

She explained: "I wanted to do a kids movie again. I wanted to do a family film. There are so many family movies for kids but they don't actually teach you anything.

"Speed Racer really stresses integrity and morals and a love of family, and that's something I think is really important and a trend we need to bring back."
