It's time for Hollywood's most stylish to strut their stuff on the red carpet once again as the Cannes Film Festival comes to town.
A-listers including Cate Blanchett, Mischa Barton and Eva Longoria stepped out for the event's opening ceremony this week sporting an assortment of this season's most-desired fashion trends.
Wearing a flesh-coloured ruffled Armani Prive gown with shoulder embellishment, Lord of the Rings star Cate was in stunning form having only given birth to her son Ignatius Martin four weeks ago.
Desperate Housewives actress Eva Longoria looked equally polished in a turquoise-coloured gown, while Mischa Barton opted for a demure navy blue one-shouldered dress with a fishtail hem.
Star Wars star Natalie Portman, who is one of the judging panellists for this year's award alongside Sean Penn, wore a royal purple strapless ruffled cocktail dress finishing just above the knee, set off with stylish black belt, handbag and stilettos.
This year is the 61st Annual Cannes Film Festival, with films including Steven Soderbergh's Che and Clint Eastwood's Changeling tipped to be the main contenders for the event's top award, the Palme d'Or.
