Madonna has delivered a veiled insult to her soon-to-be-ex-husband Guy Ritchie during one of her recent concerts, branding him "emotionally retarded".
It was confirmed yesterday that the 50-year-old pop superstar is divorcing her film director husband of eight years, after months of speculation that their marriage was on the rocks.
Now Madge has launched a scathing attack on Guy, making her feelings clear to her adoring fans at her gig in Boston's TD Banknorth Garden.
Despite her personal problems, the brave star took to the stage in her usual get-up of leotard and accessories and before singing her hit track Miles Away, which Madge has previously claimed was written about Guy, she said: "This song is for the emotionally retarded.
"Maybe you know some people who fall into that category. I know I do."
Ouch!
Sources close to the couple claim that Madonna and Guy have not been able to see eye-to-eye on a number of issues.
Although Guy has tried to get on board with Madge's following of the Kabbalah faith, he is said to be disillusioned with it, while the adoption of another child is reported to be another sticking point for the pair.
Their divorce is already being predicted as one of the costliest in British legal history, with Madonna estimated to be worth a whopping £275 million.
