Bacall brands Cruise a "maniac"

There is certainly no love lost between Tom Cruise and Hollywood legend Lauren Bacall.

The 84-year-old icon, who was married to the late actor Humphrey Bogart, has lashed out at the Mission: Impossible star, branding him a "maniac".

Lauren starred alongside Tom's ex-wife Nicole Kidman in the 2003 film Dogville.

Filming took place shortly after Nicole's divorce from Tom, who is now married to Katie Holmes, and Lauren remarked that the Australian beauty seemed "unhappy" at the time.

Lauren told Elle magazine: "Tom had taken off for Penelope Cruz or some goddamn thing - one of his more ridiculous moves.

"Tom Cruise is a maniac. I can't understand the way he conducts his life."

Wowsers. We wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of you Lauren!

It isn't the first time that the veteran actress has attacked Tom.

Back in 2005, she said: "When you talk about a great actor, you're not talking about Tom Cruise."
