L'Oreal denies Beyonce skin altering

Cosmetics company L'Oreal has firmly denied altering the colour of Beyonce's skin after the singer appeared in an advert several shades lighter than she normally looks.

The 26-year-old wife of Jay-Z stars in an advert for a hair colouring product which features in the September issues of Elle, Allure and Essence.

Fans were surprised to see the image of the famous pop star apparently "digitally lightened" and the occurrence has caused a backlash in the US.

However L'Oreal says that the snaps at the centre of the heated debate have not been altered and that the firm is proud of Beyonce, who has worked with it since 2001.

The company said in a statement: "We highly value our relationship with Ms. Knowles. It is categorically untrue that L'Oreal Paris altered Ms Knowles' features or skin tone in the campaign."

We're glad to hear it - you can't improve Beyonce's perfect looks!
