Jay-Z has finally spoken out about why he decided to keep his marriage to Beyonce so hush hush.
It was reported that the 38-year-old rapper married the bootylicious babe on April 4th this year at a private ceremony in New York.
But while we were waiting eagerly from some tit-bits of gossip, the secretive pair were giving nothing away.
They have never even confirmed that they are in fact married, but Jay-Z has now said that it's only out of respect for his relationship.
"You have to have something sacred to you and the people around you. I shared so much of my life… I should have something to hold on to," he told Vibe mag.
He added: "I just think [marriage] is really a part of your life that you gotta keep to yourself."
