Amy's dad 'proud' of her

Amy Winehouse's father Mitch has said that he is immensely proud of his Grammy-award winning daughter, despite all her problems.

The troubled singer has been in and out of rehab since she shot to fame and is often seen behaving erratically.

She is widely known to have experienced ongoing problems with drug and alcohol addiction and has also confessed to self-harming.

Yet cab driver Mitch says that he could not be more proud of his little girl.

Speaking at the unveiling of Amy's waxwork at London museum Madame Tussauds yesterday, he said: "Nobody - as a family - nobody could be more proud of their child. I mean, she's a wonderful kid, she's a great girl, and we're extremely proud of her."

Mitch also pledged his support to his son-in-law Blake Fielder-Civil, who is currently serving 27 months in prison for GBH.

Mitch said he was not opposed to Amy's plans to have five kids with her husband as soon as he gets out.

He told GMTV: "It would be great to be grandparents. If Blake cleans up his act, as I'm sure he will do, they'll have a wonderful life together and we can look forward to being a happy family."
