Tyra's wobbly start to modelling

How anyone could think that our fave model and TV presenter, Tyra Banks, was anything less than drop dead gorgeous is frankly beyond us.

But poor old Ty has been chatting about how hard it was for her in the fashion industry when she first got into the biz.

And would you believe it? It was her stunning curves that caused the problem.

Chat show queen Ty, who presents America's Next Top Model, says that her agency had a whole list of "designers who [would] not book Tyra because of hips and breasts".

Their loss Ty - that's what we say.

She told New York Times magazine that things got so bad she considered sacking in the modelling altogether.

"My biggest obstacle was that I was black and curvy," she said.

"My mother told me the whole thing as we were walking down the street in Milan. She said: 'They say you're too curvy. Let's go order pizza.'

"We walked into a pizzeria, and we discussed a career change."

Well we sure are glad that you stuck at it Ty!
